The Gratitude Magnetism

When we are grateful for something, we attract more things to be grateful for. It really acts like a giant magnet.

  • Why? Because we are focusing on what we already have and not in what we consider we lack.
  • Why giant? Because it amplifies everything good.

When we focus our attention on anything, we are creating that for our lives. When we are grateful, we focus on good things, so we will have more good things into our lives.

There are so many wonderful things and gifts we already have. For instance if you are reading this, it means that:

  1. You can see.
  2. You know how to read.
  3. You have access to a computer, laptop, or a mobile device.
  4. You have access to the Internet.
  5. You have the time to access this information.

This without mentioning that:

  1. Probably you know more than one language and you can read this in English.
  2. You are looking for information about Self Help, Personal Development, and how to improve your life, to make it more meaningful and happy.

You see? Within a minute, we found at least 6 things (maybe 7 in case you speak more than one language) to be grateful for, right now.

In your whole day, you will find even more things to be more grateful for, for example:

  • Are you healthy?
  • Can you walk?
  • Can you hear?
  • Do you have food?
  • Do you have water to drink?
  • Do you have a family?
  • Do you have friends?
  • Do you have a bed?
  • Do you have a job?
  • Do you have clothing?

I mentioned those good things in your life, so you can see how fortunate you are everyday. I am sure that you have many, many more things to be grateful for.

Action

  • Every day, when you wake up, count 5 things to be grateful for. Write them down. You will see more things to be grateful for every day.
  • Another way to go deeper into gratitude is to focus on just one thing, or person, to be grateful for. Now, write 3 or 5 details why you are grateful to have that particular blessing in your life. This exercise helps us to really appreciate all the good that we usually take for granted and that we only notice when it is gone, when it is too late.
