Meet Future You

We all have heard at some point about the Higher Self and Future Self. Other times we hear about finding your true self, using your intuition and even experience this feeling of certainty and knowing.

At the beginning I thought that it was something reserved for the “chosen ones” or for more spiritual people, still I decided to try to communicate with my future self.

It’s been more than 4 years now since I use it as a tool to get answers to many life changing questions I have, questions that nobody could help me with and that were very important.

First let’s define who is your Higher Self. Your higher self is your total soul consciousness or the real you. Your higher self completes you and knows your soul contract. Getting in contact with your inner self is like getting access to your own instruction manual. By accessing your higher self, you can find the answers you have been searching for. It is like your inner GPS system or your intuition. You can think of your higher self as your inner voice.

Now, let’s define your Future Self. The truth is that unless you die, there will be a future version of you within 1, 5, 10, 20 or more years. All of them will be different versions of yourself depending on the decisions you take. This is why we will communicate with the higher version of your future self, or in other words, the best version of your future self.

In my experience it’s very useful to connect with your future self 20 years from now because that way your mind doesn’t think of the obstacles to get there and will accept the possibility to see her/him in her best life ever.

How to connect with your future self:

In reality, you are already connected to your future higher self; it’s just that you don’t realize it. There are a number of ways you can connect to her/him:

  • Try to listen to your senses. Listen to little voices for intuition.
  • Write a journal. It is a wonderful way to get in touch with your future self. Just write down a question for your higher self and try finding an answer. You may be guided to begin writing something or you may get flashes of insights.
  • Meditation is another wonderful way to get in contact with your higher self as it allows your mind to slow down enough in order to help you make a connection. Envision yourself walking on a beach or a delightful green garden having a conversation with your future self. Pay attention to how she looks like. How do you feel around her? You could even visualize about hugging her/him. Ask her questions. What did she do to get there? Listen to the answers. After the meditation write your insights. Put a date. You will be surprised one year from now to read those responses.

What to ask:

The quality of your questions will determine your answers. These are some examples.

  • What did you do to get where you are?
  • What are the most meaningful moments of the past 20 years?
  • Am I in the correct career path?
  • What changes do I need to make now?
  • What’s my purpose here?
  • What are my unique talents and gifts?

What can my higher self help me with?

  • Higher self can almost help you with anything and everything.
  • Whenever you feel like your life is getting off track, your higher self can direct you in the right direction.
  • Communicating with your inner self for the first time, may feel awkward but once the connection is established, you can feel it as your lifeline.
  • Most importantly, it will help you with decisions to be taken that will allow you to be your best future self.

Relax. She/he could look like an older wiser version of you or look as young as you are now. She can also look completely different than you expect.

There is no right or wrong way to do this.

Remember to write what you feel, what you observed and more important, the message you got from your future self.

Your future self will thank you for the wise decisions you are making today.

The best is yet to come!
